Seda Hepsev @ og9-Kunsthaus Aussersihl, Zurich

Kasım 2013

Seda Hepsev has been the guest of the og9-Kunsthaus Aussersihl Rotationatelier, Zurich (Switzerland) during October-November 2013. At the end of the residency program she opened a solo show and led a workshop. In her workshop titled Domestic Exchange she focused on repetitive actions such as embroidery and cooking. Hepsev embroidered one cross-stitch pattern and gave this pattern as a gift to a participant. In return, the participant was asked to give one cooking recipe to the artist. This continuing process gave a chance to every participant to see that patterns and recipes can be copied, reproduced and multiplied innumerable times. Seda Hepsev displayed her project in the exhibition venue of og9-Kunsthaus Aussersihl at the end of November. For this project, the artist took photographs of clock towers for two months, and then deleted the hour and minute hands on them. Thus she deleted time. One of the works in the exhibition was a manipulated photograph of the clock tower of St. Peter Church which is known as the biggest clock tower in Europe. She made a simple change on it and wrote "just a second" on the clock. Hepsev then made posters from these photographs to be distributed to the audience.
