Nuri Kuzucan and CANAN @ Istanbul Modern

The works of Nuri Kuzucan and CANAN are shown in the new exhibition in Istanbul Modern titled "Past and Future" which composes of a selection of the Museum's collection. Nuri Kuzucan's 2011 dated piece "Exterior" from his fifth solo show "Interior & Exterior" at x-ist and Canan's video-animation titled "Exemplary" - which has been displayed in her solo show "Even A Cat Has a Mustache" (x-ist, 2010), 11th Istanbul Biennial (2011) and in many international institutions since then - are on display at Istanbul Modern Museum. "Past and Future" adopts a chronological format to address the transformation of modern and contemporary art in Turkey from its beginning to the present day. At the same time, it serves as a vehicle to showcase a collection that future fields of creative expression can exploit. The exhibition presents 136 artists' 180 works from Istanbul Modern's permanent collection.
