Lale Tara, Idols and Icons, Singapore

Lale Tara is participating in the group exhibit, Idols and Icons: new photography from Asia & the Middle East, Singapore starting on June 25th, 2011. The exhibit curated by Iola Lezi focuses on the shifting significance of icons, as well as the faith, often irrational, that people have in the protection that an idol or amulet is deemed to confer. Tara displays four works selected from her series, ‘"nnocent Surrogates" currently on display at Istanbul Museum of Modern Art. Nge Lay from Myanmar, Manit Sriwanichpoom, Ampannee and Maitree Siriboon from Thailand, Shadi Ghadirian and Morvarid from Iran are some of the other artists whose works are featured in the exhibition.

 

The exhibit can be seen between June 25th - August 17th, 2011 at Yavuz Fine Art.
