Ahmet Polat @ Stedelijk Museum

Ağustos 2014

Ahmet Polat's "Dark Moon / Traces" photography series is exhibited at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, as part of the group exhibition "On the Move: Storytelling in Contemporary Photography and Graphic Design", between the dates August 28, 2014–January 18, 2015. The project - on which Ahmet Polat has been working since 2006- aims to make Afro-Turkish people (Turks of African descent)more visible in the country they reside in, since the only trace they have about their heritage is their skin color. The Stedelijk Museum, with a permanent collectionincluding pieces from masters such asVincent van Gogh, Wassily Kandinsky, Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse, Jackson Pollock, AndyWarhol, Marlene Dumas, is a place for all visual art, ranging from modern art to contemporary art to design and architecture.

The exhibition "On the Move" keeps up with the latest advancements in photography and examines the dialogue between photographers and graphic designers. Ahmet Polat’s works were presented in Stedelijk Museum’s Schiedam branch in 2012.
