Contemporary Istanbul' 16

Ali Bilge Akkaya, Ansen, Burcu Perçin, Burçin Başar, Cem Dinlenmiş, Emin Mete Erdoğan, Hüseyin Arıcı, Murat Palta, Seda Hepsev

02 November - 06 November 2016

x-ist participates to the 11th edition of Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair on November 3-6, 2016.

x-ist will meet art lovers at the Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair to be held at the Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Center on November 3-6, 2016 with its 10 artists, including new names.

Just like every year, x-ist will welcome the audience at the booth LK-401 together with its special project space this year as well and exhibit the works specially created for the occasion by Ali Bilge Akkaya, Ansen, Burcu Perçin, Burçin Başar, Cem Dinlenmiş, Emin Mete Erdoğan, Erkut Terliksiz, Hüseyin Arıcı, Murat Palta and Seda Hepsev.

Murat Palta, whose works were exhibited in Russia and France in the previous year and aroused great interest at Art Dubai'15 in which he participated with x-ist, will be the guest of x-ist's solo project space at Contemporary Istanbul. Having painted in the previous years the cinema and literature classics by bringing together illustration and miniature, the young artist also explores the areas in traditional arts other than miniature in his works in which he deals with popular culture and cinema again. In the selection, which will include different forms and materials such as ceramics, glasswork, carpet weaving, the young artist continues to look into the understanding of depth in miniature.

Hüseyin Arıcı, who joined x-ist in the new season and will exhibit his works at Contemporary Istanbul for the first time, leads the audience to a conscious illusion in his works. Instead of using ready-made objects in his installations, the artist creates the necessary ready-made objects by making oil paintings on canvas and surprises by forming a new perception of reality in the game of illusion.
