Gökhan Gökseven

Londra, 1987

Gökhan Gökseven started his undergraduate education in Illustration at Ringling College of Art and Design in 2009, and in 2013 he entered the New York Academy of Art Painting Department for his master's degree.  After many group exhibitions he participated in abroad, he took place in Take Home a Nude (Sotheby's, 2015), Mamut Art Project (2017), and Closed Doors (Museum Evliyagil, 2019) exhibitions with his works. The artist who opened his first solo exhibition A House on the Hill in 2018, continues his productions in Istanbul.

Gökhan Gökseven's artworks, consist of parts of a series with anonymous and ambiguous stories.  Starting with the idea of creating silent paintings, the artist makes use of keywords such as mystery, chill, disappear, longing, surrender, extinction and warmth as the determinants of his compositions on this dark path he entered.  Drawings in which gouache, and ink are used accompany Gökseven's oil paintings that seek their meaning in serenity.
