x-ist hosts Cem Dinlenmiş's third solo show titled "You'll Know When You See It" between January 28 - February 27, 2016.
Through the story of Akarca İnşaat, a fictional construction company, the exhibition examines changes in the city with an ironic look. Using acrylic and markers on canvas and wood, Dinlenmiş tells the story of Akarca Construction Company and its transformation since it was founded as a hardware dealer in Esenyurt. An encrypted map offers a guide to the neighborhood. Also depicting the İSKİ (Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration) building in Aksaray, and Tozkoparan, a neighborhood resisting urban redevelopment, he continues his habit of reflecting on contemporary events on a different scale.
Dinlenmiş’s comic series titled "Her Şey Olur" from the humour magazine Penguen are currently exhibited in the group show "Istanbul: Passion, Joy, Fury" at the MAXXI Museum, Rome, on view until April 30, 2016.
